School of Nursing
Dean's Message
Nursing is a ministry of compassionate care for the whole person, in response to God’s grace toward a sinful world, which aims to foster optimum health, and bring comfort in suffering and in sickness for anyone in need.
At Howard Payne University, our Christian Faith leads faculty and staff to offer compassionate care for students. HPU offers a challenging environment of inquiry, which explores the nursing major while utilizing a concept-based curriculum. Classes are student-centered with a focus on 51 nursing concepts.
In our program, students complete two years of pre-nursing general education and math/science core requirements, and then apply to the Nursing Program for the last two years of nursing courses.
The Nursing Program has specialty classes in faith-based nursing, informatics, geriatrics and collaborative healthcare practice. Our primary goal is to prepare students for safe entry-level practice with success in obtaining a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Howard Payne University’s School of Nursing is the program for you if you desire to study nursing with caring faculty who are passionate about your success.
Come visit with us. God has a plan for you.
In His Care,
